Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Having An Abortion As A Teenager

Nicki Minaj covers the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, in which she opens up about having an abortion as a teenager. The star first alluded to a child “who would have been sixteen any minute” in All Things Go, a song that made its debut on the star’s new album, The Pink Print.

Now, Nicki has revealed that she had an abortion while she was still in high school, and said of the moment she found out she was pregnant: “I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through.”

The star said the decision to end her pregnancy has “haunted me all my life”, but explained why she felt that choice was the right one for her at the time. She said: “It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”

Abortion isn’t an easy subject for anyone to open up about it, so we’re proud of Nicki for being brave and giving her voice to such an important topic.
