Nana Fofie is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter. She discovered her musical talent earlier in life during her early childhood age.

She started releasing music covers on YouTube in 2017.

Her fan base is called NaNation. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the female Äfro-European” artists making major strides.

Age

According to her Spotify page, she is 27 years old; hence we predicted she was born in 1996; however, some reports claimed she was born on June 1, 1990, in Rotterdam, South Holland.

Career

The Holland-based artiste was one of the opening acts on Nicki Minaj’s tour stop in Holland in March 2019.

She sings in English, Twi, French, and sometimes even Dutch.

The female artiste was greatly influenced by the songs of Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, and Celine Dion while growing up.

Nana Fofie is currently signed to Nicki Minaj‘s record label along with three others. Minaj is yet to reveal the name of her label.

Family

She was born into a family of four children.

Nana’s greatest influences are her late father and Lauren Hill, her hero.

One of her primary aims is to become an inspiration and role model for the younger generation.

Aside from music, Nana Fofie is dedicated to carrying out her father’s ambition of constructing a school for orphans in Ghana through the ‘Fofie Foundation.’

Nana, who describes herself as “just an ordinary person who likes to sing and compose music,” has a son named, Isaiah.

Reminiscing about her childhood, in an interview with Fluent, she narrated; “Our household was a lot of fun, I grew up with my older brother and sister. We used to watch a lot of movies together. It was Sister Act all day, every day. Our parents weren’t very strict on us. They motivated us a lot to explore our talents and interests, also the reason none of us really did any crazy excessive things growing up.

“By the age of 10 or 11, we started going to church. We’re not the traditional Ghanaian household where families go to church from an early age. Music was always present at our household. My dad was a very good singer and passed that on to me and my siblings. We’d sing a lot and write songs together. My mom was the only one who doesn’t know how to sing [laughs], but she was the best audience and always our #1 fan. “
