“Manchester City is a Jaguar. You cannot put an ‘L’ plate on a Jaguar.”

Speaking about Hazard who netted twice in seven minutes for the Blues in control and condemned Newcastle to defear from the penalty spot after Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa had wrestled Samuel Eto’o to the ground, the Portuguese said

“I think it was not different to other performances he had – the only difference is he scored a hat-trick for the first time,”

“It was very similar to the one at Hull, at [Manchester] City, at home against [Manchester] United, against Liverpool, at Southampton – basically the same way. He’s playing really well, with a big evolution, consistency, ambition … fantastic.”

“I’m not here to lie or cheat,”

“In any case, this sort of thing is season on the pitch. When you are less good, you have to be able to say it.

“I’m certainly going to change my training methods so that I’m fresher in my limbs and head. It’s not a question of doing less, on the contrary.

“I love running. I’m going to put myself in more danger so I’m more reactive. I’ve lost that in the last few matches”, he told L’Equipe.

Manchester City’s Actions Were Judas-Like, Mancini Blasts Former Employers

Former Manchester City Manager, Roberto Mancini is unhappy about the treatment meted out to him by his former employers. He has compared the actions of the premier league contenders towards him to that of the biblical Judas.

Despite leading Man City to their first league title in 44 years in the 2011/2012 season, Mancini was sacked after losing to Wigan in the FA Cup final on a day which marked his one year anniversary of winning the title.

The Italian has now revealed that Manchester chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain were holding talks with his earmarked successor months before he was fired and replaced by Manuel Pellegrini.

“I know a lot of people in football and I found out afterwards that they were talking to three or four managers in February, March and April,” he told The Sun on Sunday.

“I know they were talking to Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti – and these were the same people I sat down with for dinner before the FA Cup final.

“It was like Judas. I trusted the chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak 100 per cent, but not those two other guys [Soriano and Begiristain] – probably he just followed them.

“Some people just don’t have the courage to talk face to face – even Khaldoon did not tell me to my face what was happening.

“Instead they were working behind my back and sacked me two games before the end of the season.”

Napoli Insists Crying Balotelli Was Not Racially Abused

Italian side, Napoli has made a press release stating that controversial AC Milan forward, Mario Balotelli was not abused when both sides met at San Paolo on Saturday. A game AC Milan lost 1-3.

Balotelli was photographed crying during the game and that fuelled rumours of  a possible racial chant towards the big Italian

“In relation to some suggestions on Facebook saying that Mario Balotelli cried on Saturday at the stadium because of racist chants against him, Napoli would like to point out that there were no racist chants towards him, just as there have never been any racist chants to anyone at the San Paolo,” the statement explained.

Adel Taarabt had given AC Milan the lead but an equalzizer from Gokhan Inler and a double from Gonzalo Higuain was adequate to condemn Milan to a defeat, a result which leaves Seedorf’s side in 10th position on the Serie A table.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday in Lagos said it had extended the period for its ongoing nationwide membership registration till Feb. 12.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the membership registration which began on Wednesday was scheduled to end on Monday.

In a statement signed by the Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the extension was to accommodate many Nigerians who had turned out to register but could not do so.

”We have apparently underestimated the number of those who are eager and willing to participate actively in the change process by joining the APC.

”Even with one day to go in the original registration schedule, we have exceeded the number of members we set out to register.

“Many more have reached out to us to give them the opportunity to join the APC hence our decision to extend the registration,” Mohammed said in the statement.

The party said it needed to ensure that the people who wanted to register as members were allowed to do so.

It urged all interested citizens who had not registered to utilise the opportunity offered by the extension to do so.
