Former Speaker, Dimeji Bankole Loses Daughter In London Hospital

The angel of death has visited the family of the former Speaker of the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole. He lost his six year old daughter, Yewande Semiat Bankole to what many believe is the HbSS Sickle cell disease at St. Marys Children’s Hospital, London on Wednesday.

The family of the ex-speaker made this known through a statement they issued to journalists on Thursday in Abeokuta

“With gratitude to Almighty Allah and with heavy hearts, we announce the demise of our daughter Yewande Semiat Bankole aged 6 years at St Marys Children’s hospital, London on October 1,2014”. 

“She was a radiant girl who struggled with the disease and her condition was originally managed at a Lagos hospital but she was later transferred to a London hospital where she eventually died”, part of the statement read.

The family also called for prayers from the public.
