Explosion in Jalingo, Taraba State capital

An unspecified number of persons were injured following an explosion that occurred in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The incident was said to have happened close to one Doruwa drinking joint in the late hours of Sunday.

The blast was also believed to have been caused by an explosive device suspected to be a mini bomb.

Punch Newspaper reports that, the injured victims have been hospitalised, while the scene of the explosion was cordoned off by men of the Nigeria police anti-bomb squad.

No fewer than six people were confirmed dead and over 15 people injured after an explosion rocked a marketplace which is about 30km away from the state capital on April, 2022.

Another explosion was again heard in the ATC area of the state capital in September, 2022.

Prior to the recurrence of the explosions, Governor Darius Ishaku had raised the alarm that Boko-Haram terrorists were regrouping in the state.
