The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai on Monday visited the State Security Service headquarters around 9:20am, three days after evading arrest over his refusal to honour an invitation.

“The SSS has no power to compel me to go to their office because of a statement which i have rights under the constitution to make”

“Embarrassment is part of life, all i want to say is that whoever violates the law or does anything against the constitution will face the consequences but we will pursue our rights in courts and in the courts of public opinion”

“I think because i sued the SSS for detaining me unlawfully in Awka during the gubernatorial elections i think that is the main reason because there is nothing i have said that history has not shown”

“I said elections should be free and fair, if they are not free and fair there is likelihood of violence. This has happened at least four times in our history. 1964, 1983, 1993 and 2011 so what is strange about that? Anybody that doesn’t know that is either doesn’t know history or is ignoring history”

“It is all politics, this is all about 2015, this is all an attempt to silence the opposition against crying all out that the elections is are likely to be rigged by the PDP and we will continue to speak until we get free and fair elections in this country”

He was accompanied by Gov Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State who said he was mandated by the APC to do so.

“We were directed by the party to escort mallam to this place, Like I just told mallam you don’t expect a government or PDP will willingly ced power they are not christ. They will fight with all means and this is one of the institutions they will use in fighting anybody who wants to take power from them..”

Amaechi was at the SSS Headquarters along with his wife.
