The police in Bauchi on Tuesday said there was no breakthrough in the search for kidnapped businessman, Alhaji Manu Soro.
Soro was abducted by gunmen on Saturday in his home town of Soro after attending evening prayers.
The Police Command spokesman, DSP Haruma Mohammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi that the search was still going on.
He said the police had not received any vital information on the whereabouts of the kidnapped businessman.
According to him, the police are intensifying investigations with the hope of getting a clue about Soro’s whereabout.
“However, we are continuing with our investigations in the hope that we will be able to unravel the situation and get him freed.”
NAN reports that Soro is the fifth person to be kidnapped in the area.
Recently, a former member of the state House of Assembly and three health workers were kidnapped in Darazo, a town near Soro, on Bauchi-Maiduguri road.
They were subsequently released by their abductors.
