Oshiomhole Splashes N14m To 7 Widows Of Dead Police Officers

NAN

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo on Thursday donated N14 million to seven widows of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in the state.

Oshiomhole made the donation at a meeting with senior police officers and families of deceased officers in Benin.

He also donated N500, 000 each to the children of the deceased to assist in their educational pursuit.

The governor said that bereaved families of such officers should be adequately assisted and taken care of by the government and society for paying the supreme sacrifice to the nation.

He said the assistance extended extended to such families would inspire those still in service to do more to the society.

Oshiomhole assured that the state government would provide more vehicles to the police to enhance their patrol activities, but urged them to improve on their maintenance culture.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Folusho Adebanjo, commended officers and men of the command for reducing crime in the state.

Adebanjo, however, said that the command had lost seven of its officers in 2013 and appealed to the government to assist the force with more patrol vehicles to sustain and improve on its successes.

Peregrino Brimah: 20 Legacy Of President Jonathan’s Administration

The president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said at the launching of two new programs in Abuja, February 11th,that his legacies will outlive his administration. Many Nigerians are delighted as it appears the Nigeria’s president since February 2010 is making such statements as he wraps up his reign and prepares to hand over in 2015 at the end of his current tenure and 8 years in Aso rock. Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan promised Nigerians that he will not be contesting re-election.

It is true that the legacy of Goodluck Jonathan and his administration will long outlive him and be talked of, written of and studied in Nigerian schools for generations to come. Below we tried to summarize 20 of his most notable legacies:

1. World Cup 2010: Goodluck Jonathan banned Nigeria’s football team from all international competitions for two years for their failure in the world cup.

2. 2011 covenant to be elected: Dear Nigerians, if you vote me in this 2011, I promise I will not seek re-election in 2015. (This achievement is on hold as Nigerians believe he is a man of honor and he did not trick and defraud them.)

3. September 2011 on Boko Haram: Let me use this occasion to reassure Nigerians and members of the international communities that we now have strong links as to those involved in this terror war on Nigeria and Nigerians. I have directed security operatives to go after them, no matter where they may be hiding. –As at February 12th, 2014, he is yet to accost a single terror mastermind and thousands of civilians and soldiers have died from the sponsored terror.

4. Again in January of 2012 the president said of Boko Haram: Some of them are in the executive arm of government, some of them are in the parliamentary/legislative arm of government, while some of them are even in the judiciary, some are also in the armed forces, the police and other security agencies. Some continue to dip their hands and eat with you and you won’t even know the person who will point a gun at you or plant a bomb behind your house…

5. Fuel Subsidy: For his January 2012 New Year’s gift to Nigerians by attempting to remove the entire “fuel subsidy” in one swoop to introduce the year.

6. Fuel Subsidy 2: Conceding to Nigerians that a cabal existed which robbed the nation and this cabal was beyond his power as executive president to curtail and prosecute.

7. Fuel Subsidy 3: For wasting Nigerians time by investigating the fuel subsidy thieves only to never prosecute them.

8. Jonathan Vs CNN’s Amanpour: The electricity is improving it is only the opposition that say it is not. (Inferring that CNN’s anchor, Christine Amanpour must be the opposition.)

9. Words to Obama: For you to fix the world, you must fix Africa. For you to fix Africa, you must fix Nigeria.

10. On Corruption he is remembered for saying: Corruption is not the cause of all the problems confronting Africa. (This is a reversal of his earlier statement to Christian Amanpour at the beginning of his tenure, that corruption and power are two of Nigeria’s top problems.)

11. On theft of Nigeria’s crude oil: Stolen crude is refined abroad, not in Nigeria so abroad is to blame for the theft of our oil.

12. On winning elections: 16 > 19

13. Internationally: For missing his speaking slot in May 2013 at the AU 50th anniversary occasion in Ethiopia.

14. Internationally 2: For again missing the investment summit meeting in UK, November 2013, where he allegedly checked in to the hospital for “hang-over.”

15. @ World Bank: Nigeria does not have 100 million destitute—Presidency. But Jonathan government’s National Bureau of Statistics, NBS: Sorry sir, but we do have 100 million destitute, that’s data from our office, Sir.

16. NNPC scams under his administration to the tune of$10.8b, $12b, $20b, $49.8b

17. $7bn Berne declaration expose on sweet Swiss oil baron deals, labeled as the “Greatest fraud Africa has ever known.”

18. Forgetting the EFCC and ICPC and setting up a Kangaroo panel on BMW millions robbery scam Oduahgate. The panel delivered a decision to sack her which he again forgot.

19. For presenting a strong accusation of political assassination but failing to execute justice for murder. He said to Obasanjo: There have certainly been cases of political assassination since the advent of our Fourth Republic, but as you well know, none of them occurred under my leadership.

20. For keeping Bamanga Tukur who publicly declared support for Boko Haram terrorists with the words, “Boko Haram is fighting for justice; Boko Haram is another name for justice” as PDP chairman and then quickly appointing him chairman of Nigerian Railway.

Others include, Private jets, Dokubo, Al Mustapha, the gay rapist released, Eloping with Diezani, begging three times failed NSA Gusau, keeping Facrook in office and on payroll, selling and non-selling refineries, Tokunbo ban, road-use tax, national debt and reserves, broke nation, naira depreciation, and more and more…

The Goodluck Jonathan administration which is an extension of the Obasanjo administration has a little over a year to complete its tenure. It is hoped that the president will in this end period try to do some bold and strong, remarkable things, especially in the line of top official impunity and corruption, and terror sponsorship, that will be remembered in positive light when Jonathan’s legacy is written and read.

Omotola Threatens Legal Action Against Bloggers That Published Her Daughters Photos [READ]

Nollywood actress, Omotola j .Ekeinde has threatened to sue bloggers that publish her daughters photos.. The 14 year old celebrated her birthday a few days back and apparently bloggers tagged the pictures ‘hot and sexy’ and that comment is not going well with Meraiah’s parents as she is still underage.

Read her facebook post and why she made the threats..

“Thank you to everyone who wished Meraiah a happy birthday. However, going to a 14 year old’s “private” online accts to post her pictures for public viewing is totally Inappropriate . Her father and I are horrified as parents and guardian that a minor’s picture can be paraded online as hot” ,”sexy” etc…
We know the bloggers probably meant no harm but in a world full of pedophiles and sickos every adult with morales should know where to draw the line. This was started by a lady called Kemi filani , she has since apologized and taken down content but her reckless blog post lives on.
I WILL NOT hesitate henceforth to use everything within my power to bring ANYONE to justice who does this with any of my under aged kids after “this” first time episode !
Any child under 18 should be protected by us all and if their parents/guardian haven’t given you the okay to publish information especially “private” of their child, doing so, is against the law.
I hope you all understand, thanks. Omotola.”

The celebrity however took to twitter to thank the bloggers that did not follow the line of those that published the picture..

“@realomosexy I’ll finish by saying thanks to all the Matured and Responsible bloggers who did not follow the unnecessary trend and those who took it down”

Joe Igbokwe: PDP Declares War On The Treasury To Stay In Power

‘Good day sir, How do you see the defection of 5 APC Reps back to PDP? APC says they were induced. Are there concrete proof?’

A friend of mine just sent this text to me asking whether there is proof that the defecting Reps Members were bribed to return to PDP. Yes, we are privileged to get information. APC is well-connected in government circle to get privileged information. We have our tentacles, connections, and networks both in and outside Nigeria. Even in the days of ACN we do get privileged information about governance in Nigeria talkless of now that we are in a bigger family, APC. APC can no longer be ignored in Nigeria’s political landscape. Somebody once said that APC is now playing Chess while PDP is playing Ludo in Nigeria.

In my previous article, I said that PDP will not give up power easily without a fight. I alerted the nation that PDP will use every raw energy, power, strength, tricks, blackmail, bribery, intimidation, force, brigandage, subterfuge and every arsenal in their house of cards to suppress, oppress and repress the opposition, APC. I wrote that PDP will use good money, choice property, choice appointments, contracts, cars, etc to try to fight back. Today it is happening. In the coming days, PDP will employ more deadly approach. To remain in office, PDP can just do anything. Life after power has been their greatest worry. How can we survive after power? How can APC chase us out just like that? How would APC react to the rot we have left in the system for close to 16 years if they get to power? How would APC take the massive looting of the treasury that has spanned almost 16years? What are we going to tell our wives, our girlfriends, our concubines etc? What is going to be our fate in the year ahead in Nigeria? These are the big questions that will trouble the minds of Chieftains of PDP. PDP will empty the nation’s treasury and break the banks in Nigeria to remain in power.

APC leaders must be extremely careful now. PDP can go after APC leaders now. They may go extra mile of murdering some of the leaders of APC just to instill fear on others. Deficit in anything that is honourable, just and fair, PDP can sacrifice Nigeria to remain in power. In their own world: “the country can go to blazes if we cannot rule”

One million dollars to each Reps is no small money. Two million dollars to Senators is a lot of money. Ten million dollars to leaders is unbelievable. Five million dollars to Rivers lawmakers is irresistible. We need to encourage the leaders, governors, Senators, Reps who defected to APC without anybody bribing them to remain resolute. It is not easy to refuse this kind of money. They must remain where they are for the sake of Nigeria. These people have made serious sacrifices and they need to be assured that they are on the right track. Nigeria is waiting for the heroes that will be the drivers of the new Nigeria. These gentlemen and women are the ones to be celebrated. This country is worth dying for. Our children must have a country they will call their own which will compare with any decent country in the world.

I see real trouble coming but Nigeria will overcome. With the President Jonathan National Conference in place, even with all the doubts, the looting of NNPC, the looting of the Presidency, President Jonathan’s ambition in 2015, the 2015 Presidential elections etc, I think we need to put on the real armour to withstand the storms ahead. Time will tell.

The truth of the matter is that if we do not manage President Goodluck Jonathan and his handlers very well they may crash Nigeria. From the look of things, it looks as if they have reached the point of no return in their inordinate ambition to continue to decimate Nigeria. We need to carefully manage the Bulls out of the China’s shop to forestall further colossal damage. This country is more important than President Goodluck Jonathan and PDP leaders in Nigeria. Case rested!

Boko Haram Kill 51 In Konduga, Borno – Witnesses

(Reuters) – Gunmen from Islamist sect Boko Haram killed 51 people in an attack on a town in northeast Nigeria, witnesses said on Wednesday, in a region where President Goodluck Jonathan’s troops are struggling to contain its insurgency.

Dozens of Boko Haram fighters speeding along in trucks painted in military colours and armed with automatic weapons and explosives stormed Konduga local government area in Borno state at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, burning houses and shooting fleeing villagers, two witnesses said.

The insurgents also took 20 young girls from a local college hostage, a teacher said. The military confirmed the attack took place. It was still assessing the number of casualties.

“It is barbaric and unfortunate,” Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima said when he visited the town on Wednesday.

“About 60 to 70 percent of the town has been burnt down but we are willing to rebuild it,” he added, pledging to spend 100 million naira ($609,000) on emergency materials.

Boko Haram, which wants to impose sharia law on a country split roughly equally between Christians and Muslims, has killed thousands over the past four and a half years and is considered the biggest security risk in Africa’s top oil exporter and second largest economy after South Africa. PDP Denies Bribing Lawmakers Says APC Is ‘A Sinking Party’

pdp-apc
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Wednesday dismiss allegations by the All Progressives Congress that federal lawmakers were being induced with millions of dollars to defect to the ruling party.

The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the APC Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had accused the PDP of rolling out a mouth-watering enticement package that promises 2 million US dollars to each Senator who returns to the PDP; 1 million US dollars to each member of the House of Representatives, and 10 million dollars to each ‘leader’ who abandons the APC for PDP.

It said the price tag for the federal legislators from Rivers State is even higher, at 5 million dollars each.

However, a statement by National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh. It said the allegation was coming from “a sinking party.”

Metuh however said that all well-meaning Nigerians were indeed worried by the statements and actions of the APC which he said were aimed at destroying Nigeria’s democracy and plunging the nation into chaos.

He said that in alleging that lawmakers were being financially induced, the APC sought to create doubt in the minds of Nigerians regarding the integrity of duly elected persons and the entire democratic institution.

He said, “Though this is a preposterous and cheap thesis by the APC to explain away the collapsing fraud upon which its membership is built, it is nonetheless a vicious attack on the citadel of democracy and we call on the leadership and members of the National Assembly not to view the allegation as a mere political statement.

“We urge the National Assembly to insist that the APC withdraws the allegation and apologise to the legislature and the entire nation.

“The truth is that the APC has reached its peak. Diminishing returns has set in and the party can only go down further.”
