Age is typically a crucial consideration when discussing marriage, and celebrities are not exempt from this dilemma.

Some celebrities have, however, decided to opt for such marriage despite having to go through public condemnation and criticisms from the public

Below is a list of Nigerian celebrities who got married to a partner older than them

1. Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko

Regina is a Nollywood actress who got her debut role in the industry at 14.

The actress got married to Nigerian billionaire politician Ned Nwoko in 2019. At the time of the union, Regina was 18, and Ned was 63 years old.

However, their union has faced much backlash on social media by people who believed the union is a “father-and-daughter marriage”. But this hasn’t stopped the couple from enjoying their blissful marriage.

2. Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva

The union between these two is one which many envy and wish to emulate. Both have grown into one of the greatest veteran Nollywood actors.

The duo met at the National Theatre before tying the knot in 1989. At the time of the union, Joke was 27 while Olu was 46. Their blissful union will clock 34 this year.

3. Darey and Deola Art Alade

Darey, a vocalist, singer and songwriter, has been in the Nigerian music scene for a while and has won numerous awards for his craft.

The musician married Deola in 2017, and their union became the talk of the moment because of their age difference.

Deola stated in an interview that she is nine years older than Dare. However, this hasn’t had any negative effect on the union as it is waxing stronger by the day They are blessed with two kids.

4. Omotola-Jalade Ekeinde and Capt Matthew

Nollywood actress Omotola Ekeinde is also worth mentioning because of her marriage with Capt. Matthew Ekeinde. The duo married in 1996 when Omotola was 18 and her husband was 28.

The ten-year age difference has not been a reason for their love losing turgidity. The marriage has been a glorious one that has produced four wonderful children.

Susan Hart and Dr. Kuku

Susan, the popular Nigerian beauty queen and winner of the 1994 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria(MBGN) pageant, is married to Dr Kuku.

Dr Sonny Folorunsho Kuku, the co-founder of the popular Eko Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, married Susan when she was 19. The renowned Doctor was 49 at the time, leaving an age difference of 30 years between the couple.

However, the couple have been living happily with their children despite backlash from the public.
