Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is a multi-award-winning Nigerian actress and singer. She was born in Lagos State on the 7th of February, 1978, to Oluwashola Jolade and Oluwatoyin Jolade.

The veteran actor has starred in over 200 movies in the Nigerian film industry and has won numerous awards in recognition of her craft.

She has also been featured in Time magazine‘s top 100 global influencers list. In addition, Omotola was honoured by the Nigerian government in 2014 when she was named a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).

Omotola Jalade attended Chrisland School for her elementary education before heading to Oxford Children’s School and Command Secondary School, Kaduna, for her secondary education.

She then proceeded to Yaba College of Technology for a diploma in Estate Management.

Omotola began as a model before drifting into acting. She made her acting debut in the movie, “Venom of Justice” in 1995

She began playing significant roles in movies that same year, particularly in Mortal Inheritance, where she portrayed a sickle-cell patient fighting for her life against all odds. She was awarded Best Actress Overall and Best Actress in an English-Speaking Film for this performance at the 1997 Movie Awards.

Omotola Jelade has appeared in more than 200 films alongside well-known Nollywood performers like Genevieve Nnaji, Stella Damasus, Pete Edochie, and others. Recognising her acting talent, she has won numerous awards and received nominations. Her acting credits include roles in movies like Blood Sisters, Korsorogun 2, Rescue, and Lost Kingdom 2.

In 2012, Africa Magic Entertainment, an M-Net affiliate broadcast on DStv, featured Omotola Jalade’s “The Real Me.”

Omotola Jalade entered the music business in 2005 when she released her debut album, Gba. She issued “Me, Myself and Eyes” a year later as her second album.

 A blogger, Gistlover, allegedly linked Omotola and Adams Oshiomole to a romantic relationship.

Reacting to the allegation, Omotola shared a post via her Instagram page. She wrote, “I ordinarily don’t do this but after thinking about it thoroughly and seeking advice I have decided to! So.this Blog ran this story and people started coming to my page. I’ve always known there are people who are sick and will tell you stories that have Never happened but to publish that on a platform as big as Instagram? You must be held accountable,” she wrote.
