Controversy

The actor was caught up in controversy when a video of him battering a car belonging to his friend went viral on the internet.
Charles Okocha was seen damaging a friend’s car after noticing his daughter sitting in the front seat cruising with him in the car.

In the video, the actor can be seen yelling and dragging a young girl out of the SUV and roughhousing her into his car.
Shortly after the young lady, whom many assumed was his daughter, was settled in the actor’s car, Okocha was seen wielding a spade, which he repeatedly hit the windscreen of his friend’s car, damaging it.

The video has elicited a range of reactions. While some thought the video snippet was from a movie or a comedy skit, others thought it happened in real life.
However, PM News reported that the actor cleared the air, stating that the video snippet was from an unreleased film.

“You should know me by now that I will never do a thing like that. I will want people to zoom into the video, look at the face of the lady and compare it with my daughter. That is not my daughter,” Okocha said.
“What people saw is a scene from a movie I am featured in but it is not yet released. I would have addressed this issue since but I am currently filming in the east and I am very busy at the moment,” He said.
Charles Okocha’s celebrity fight with Portable
Charles Okocha was defeated by controversial musician and Nigerian street-pop artist, Habeeb Badmus, stage name “Portable“, after the fourth round, Nigerian of a celebrity boxing fight held on December 27, 2023.
Reacting to Portable’s victory, Igwe 2Pac accused the referee and the match organizers of rigging.
Expressing his grievances on his social media page, the actor alleged that Portable removed his boxing gloves during the third round, an action that should have led to immediate disqualification.
He said; “How can you give up in the 3rd round when we have 4 rounds? How do you take off your gloves in the third round, leading to total disqualification when the fight hasn’t ended?
“You all know this was rigged, with an incompetent referee who knows nothing about boxing rules. Nevertheless, we move on. Rematch is coming soon.”
