5 natural ways to control premature ejaculation and last longer in bed

If you think taking Viagra is safe, think again! The drug has been linked to multiple deaths of men with an underlying cardiovascular issue.

Still don’t believe? Below is an excerpt from a published work on PubMed; “Sildenafil (Viagra) has been linked to 240 deaths (128 verified, 112 unverified) reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) during 7.5 months of availability, and to 522 reported deaths after 13 months of availability”.

Here is the good news, there are natural ways to tackle erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation without having to take any drugs.

Consume food rich in minerals

Some minerals have been linked with sexual and reproductive health. Notable of these minerals are:

  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Calcium
  • Copper
  • Manganese
  • Selenium

A report published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in 2018 noted some studies linked reduced quantities of zinc in the seminal fluid of males with infertility.

Some of the foods rich in zinc include meat, shellfish, legumes, seeds, nuts, dairy foods (such as milk and cheese), eggs and whole grains.

Some foods that are rich in magnesium include dark chocolate, avocados, nuts, legumes, tofu, and some fatty fish.

Research foods that are rich in other minerals listed above.

Exercise

Training your pelvic muscles can also enhance their control during sex. A study noted that a 12-week program of pelvic floor exercises helped males with premature ejaculation control their ejaculatory reflexes and improve time to climax.

If you are enrolled in a gym, ask your gym instructor for tips to practice this kind of exercise. However, for the Do It Yourself (DIY) folks, to perform this exercise, lie or sit in a comfortable position while avoiding any pressure on the perineum.

The perineum is located in-between the anus and genitals. Try to hold yourself from urinating. Tighten the area for about 5 seconds. Release and rest; then repeat 10 times. You should try this two or three times every day.

Use the squeeze technique

This is a perfect and first technique for male without previous coitus experience. It can help a male identify how orgasm feels and probably how to control it.

If you have a willing partner, they can help you stimulate your penis until you are close to ejaculation. At this point, firmly squeeze the shaft of the penis (search for the picture of the parts of a penis for better visualisation). Hold on with the pressure until the erection partially goes away and then the ejaculation is belayed.

Use the stop and start technique

The stop-start technique is analogous to the squeeze technique. Stimulate the penis until you near climax. Stop immediately to allow the feeling to subside. After the climax is subsided, repeat the process after some time. Do this repeatedly in a cycle and may finally allow the ejaculation on the fourth or fifth.

This technique acquaints you with the sensation of orgasm. You should devise a better way to control this whenever you sense it.

Masturbate

Masturbation simply means the stimulation of the genitals with the hand for sexual pleasure. It usually takes men some time to achieve orgasm after the first. This is why you could leverage this method (provided you are comfortable with it).

Masturbate prior to getting in bed with your lover. This should delay the next orgasm and probably help you to last longer.
