Best Thriller Movie of 2022 That You Need to Watch

Published

on

What a fantastic year it has been for the movie industry. The genre of intense thriller films was one area that did very well.

The mentions on this list feature massive climaxes, spiralling characters, covert plot messages, and psychological warfare. It’s time to reflect on the award-winning thriller accomplishments that have graced our screens, both big and little, as this incredible year draws to a close.

Below is a list of the top thriller movies in 2022

Deep Water

Vic Van Allen (Ben Affleck), a wealthy husband, tries to avoid a contentious divorce by allowing his wife Melinda (Ana de Armas), to engage in several extramarital romances as long as she doesn’t leave their family. Melinda is forced to consider her husband as the main suspect after one of her old lovers vanishes.

The main characters of Deep Water are utterly unlikeable, and that is the point. Even though they both appear to be flawless on the outside, there is no nice guy in this tale. The realist style used gives the movie a rawness and immediacy that cover up its flaws and keep the viewer glued to the screen throughout, including the sex scenes.

Windfall

The robbery of a pretentious software billionaire’s unoccupied vacation home goes south when his wife (Lily Collins) and a last-minute trip arrive. The CEO agrees to hand over some cash to the robber so they can go without calling the police. However, the situation for the burglar’s wife and husband (Jason Segal) gets worse over time.

The movie had a lighthearted beginning, but as Plemons’ character grows angrier over the issue, the movie eventually turns serious. Windfall is a superb example of a traditional home invasion thriller with the thematic undertones of social disparity and economic neglect inside the narrative.

Gold

Deep Water

In the not-too-distant future, a nomad (Zac Efron) exploring the desert unearths the largest gold nugget ever discovered. He has to protect it from thieves in the face of challenging circumstances and vicious dogs while he waits for his partner to return (he isn’t even sure whether he will come back).

The gripping thriller “Gold” is about greed and the lengths people will go to in order to get wealthy. It is surrounded by vast, extraordinary, and brutal terrain. With his excellent main role, Efron is also able to show off his actual acting abilities.

The Black Phone

In the movie, Ethan Hawke plays the serial killer known as the Grabber, who kidnaps young adolescents and imprisons them in a soundproof basement. They all pass away suddenly. Mason Thames’ character, the Grabber, kidnaps 13-year-old Finney, who discovers he can hear the voices of the killer’s other victims when a wall-mounted disconnected phone starts to ring. And they’re determined to keep Finney from going through what they did.

One of the most anticipated supernatural thrillers of the year, The Black Phone centres on the cat-and-mouse game between Finney and the Grabber. The chemistry between Hawke and Thames in their roles serves to really underline this.

Men

Harper travels to the country to get some much-needed alone after a tragedy, but as soon as she gets there, her unease with the town’s leering and eerily similar males turns into a fully developed nightmare. The surrounding jungle has been awakened by something sinister.

Jessie Buckley provides an outstanding performance in a film that constantly makes you uneasy because she has no illusions about how abuse endures through the decades, manifests in many ways, and is ultimately so difficult to manage.
