The media platform says it cannot independently verify if the munitions destination is Nigeria or whether the plane was in transit.

Russia and Nigeria have signed a memorandum on interaction and cooperation between their security councils, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev’s spokesman Igor Shvytkin said Wednesday.

The document was signed at a meeting between Patrushev and Nigerian presidential national security advisor Sambo Dasuki.

“The document is called upon to become a basis for regular dialogue between the sides on different aspects, including in the sphere of international and regional security,” Shvytkin said.
