MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) Awards Returns After Three Years Absence
MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) will hold this year after a 3 years break. On Saturday, June 7, 2014, the 2014 edition of MAMA will hold at the Durban International Convention Centre, South Africa.
Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Viacom International Media Networks, Alex Okosi disclosed this at a press conference in Durban.
You will recall that the last edition of MAMA which is an annual event took place in 2010.
There will be keen contests between the finest music artistes on the African continent in 13 categories.
Three Road to MAMA concerts have been billed for Durban, Lagos, and Nairobi between April and May will be part of the build-up to the main show. MAMA nominees, Disc Jockeys and local artistes will perform at the concerts.
The first edition of MAMA took place in Abuja, Nigeria in 2008. Nairobi Kenya hosted the awards in 2009 while Lagos, Nigeria was home to the last edition in 2010.
