One of the aspirations of many youths is to become an artiste. They want the luxurious lifestyle of the musicians they see on television.

But then, do singers make money? The answer is yes, but not all artistes. However, the top-rated African artistes are paid as much as a million dollars to headline shows.

Although Nigerians dominate the list of high-paying African singers, it is not devoid of fantastic musicians from other nations on the continent.

1. Burna Boy (Nigerian) – $1 million

Burna Boy, also known as Oluwa Burna, the self-described “African Giant,” is without a doubt one of the top five biggest and most influential performers in Nigeria as well as in Africa (as of 2024).

He’s reported to be worth $6.4 billion as of 2022 (although there is no reputable platform to verify this). However, he is considered one of the richest musicians in Nigeria.

Burna Boy charges as much as $1 million per show.

2. Wizkid (Nigerian) – $1 million

Ayodeji Balogun professionally called Wizkid is a Nigerian songwriter and a musician. Wizkid was born in Surulere, Lagos.

Balogun is a superstar and has released unique songs since 2010. He has over 40 tracks to his credit. some of the outstanding songs include No Lele, scatter the floor, love my Baby, Don’t Dull, What you wanna Do, Holla YOUR BOY, SHOUT out, Gidi Girl, etc.

Wizkid charges as much as $1 million per show.

3. Rema (Nigerian) – $1 million

Divine Ikubor, stage name “Rema” is a Nigerian singer, rapper, songwriter, and stage performer. He is popularly known as Rema.

He was born and raised in Benin City, Edo state of Nigeria.

Rema charges as much as $1 million.

4. Davido (Nigerian) $600,000 – $1 million

David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, OBO (Omo Baba Olowo), and Baddest is an award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter.

David Adeleke ranks among the most influential and richest artistes in Nigeria. He has an estimated net worth of $40 million according to some reports who didn’t reveal the criteria of their estimation.

Davido charges between $600,000 to $1 million per show.

5. Asake (Nigerian) – $500,000

Ahmed Ololade Asake, better known as Asake or Mr Money, is a Nigerian singer, entertainer, songwriter, media personality, and musician.

He is a gifted musician with a sonorous voice, which often thrills listeners.

Asake released the track Omo Ope in 2022. The song quickly gained popularity online and it got the attention of Olamide who offered to record his verse for the single after falling in love with the tune, which later became more popular and peaked at No. 1 on the Nigerian Apple Music list.

Soon after, Olamide proposed signing Asake to the YBNL record label. 

Today, the YBNL member, Asake, charges as much as $500,000 per show.

6. Olamide (Nigerian) $200,000 – $500,000

Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji

Nigerian rapper Olamide, born, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, also known as Badoo, is one of the biggest and most influential artists in Africa. 

He records in Yoruba and English. In 2011, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi while signed to Coded Tunes.

The YBNL boss charges between $200,000 to $500,000 per show.

8. Kizz Daniel (Nigerian) – $200,000

9. Amr Diab (Egyptian) – $170,000

10. Ayra Starr (Nigerian) – $160,000

11. Tems (Nigerian) – $150,000

12. Tiwa Savage (Nigerian) – $130,000

13. Shatta Wale (Ghanaian) – $120,000

14. Fally Ipupa (Congolese) – $100,000

15. Diamond Platinumz (Tanzanian) – $100,000

16. Omah Lay (Nigerian) – $100,000
