But then, do singers make money? The answer is yes, but not all artistes. However, the top-rated African artistes are paid as much as a million dollars to headline shows.
Although Nigerians dominate the list of high-paying African singers, it is not devoid of fantastic musicians from other nations on the continent.
1. Burna Boy (Nigerian) – $1 million
Burna Boy, also known as Oluwa Burna, the self-described “African Giant,” is without a doubt one of the top five biggest and most influential performers in Nigeria as well as in Africa (as of 2024).
He’s reported to be worth $6.4 billion as of 2022 (although there is no reputable platform to verify this). However, he is considered one of the richest musicians in Nigeria.

4. Davido (Nigerian) $600,000 – $1 million

David Adeleke ranks among the most influential and richest artistes in Nigeria. He has an estimated net worth of $40 million according to some reports who didn’t reveal the criteria of their estimation.

5. Asake (Nigerian) – $500,000
Ahmed Ololade Asake, better known as Asake or Mr Money, is a Nigerian singer, entertainer, songwriter, media personality, and musician.
He is a gifted musician with a sonorous voice, which often thrills listeners.
Asake released the track Omo Ope in 2022. The song quickly gained popularity online and it got the attention of Olamide who offered to record his verse for the single after falling in love with the tune, which later became more popular and peaked at No. 1 on the Nigerian Apple Music list.
Soon after, Olamide proposed signing Asake to the YBNL record label.
