The unemployment rate is the percentage of people in the labour force who are unemployed. Consequently, measuring the unemployment rate requires identifying who is in the labour force. The labour force includes people who are either employed or unemployed.

Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy after over two years finally released its unemployment rate in two years.
The recent report revealed the country has 33.3 percent unemployment rate.
However, the KPMG has stated the Nigerian unemployment rate will further rise to 40.6per cent, due to the continuing inflow of job seekers into the job market.
Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed it is changing the way it measures unemployment and plans to begin issuing new quarterly data.
Subsequent surveys have been “irregular due to technical challenges,” the statistics agency said in a presentation on its website.
