Mary Remmy Njoku is a Nigerian actor, producer, film entrepreneur and the founder ROK Studios in Nigeria.

She was born on March 20, 1985, in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, Nigeria.

Remmy is the initiator of the Pan-African channel ROK TV which produces and airs African content on cables across the world.

Remmy attended Amuwo Odofin High School, National College Bagada and Navy Town Secondary School for her secondary education.

She then proceeded to Lagos State University to bag a degree in English Language.

Later, she headed to  London Film Academy for Producing: Movie Magic Budgeting and Schedule certification in the United Kingdom.

Career

Mary was drawn to acting from a young age due to her love of creativity. She participated in school stage productions and eventually pursued a career in the film industry, making her debut in 2003. She gained recognition after appearing in the TV series “Blackberry Babes” in 2011, although her first acting role was in “Home Sickness” in 2004.

Additionally, Mary stepped into production with her first TV series, “Festac Town.” She has since produced several other shows, such as “Hazeezat,” “Husband of Lagos,” “Thy Will Be Done,” etc. 

Mary has also acted in numerous films and collaborated with notable actors like Mercy Aigbe, Desmond Elliot, Bolanle Ninalowo, and others.

Between 2011 and 2013, Njoku created iROKtv, a YouTube channel featuring interviews with famous Nigerians and coverage of Afrobeats and Nollywood events. In 2016, Njoku launched ROK on Sky in the UK and ROK on DSTV in Africa.

In 2018, she added two more Pan-African channels, ROK2, ROK3, and ROKGH for viewers in Ghana. With over 3000 hours of original content, including movies and TV series, ROK has quickly become a top producer of family-friendly entertainment.

In 2019, Canal+ acquired ROK Studios from iROKO Partners, making it the largest media acquisition in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Njoku is married to British-born Nigerian entrepreneur, and investor, Jason Njoku. They are blessed with three children –
