Biography

Lukman Ebun Oloyede, famously known as Olaiya Igwe, is a Yoruba Nollywood actor and film producer. 

Olaiya was born on the 27th of July 1957 in Kenta, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is 65 years as of 2022.

He is well-known for his character interpretation prowess and humourous performances in Yoruba Nollywood films.

Education

Olaiya attended St. Judes Primary School in Abeokuta for his elementary education before heading to Premier Grammar School for his secondary education.

He later proceeded to the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he acquired a degree in mass communication. Later he headed to Crescent University to bag another Diploma in Film Performance & Communication Studies. 

Career

Olaiya started his acting career as a TV personality at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where he acted on stage plays with the Musbau Shodimu Theatre Organisation in the 1970s.

His role in movies like Ololade (Mr Money), Iru Esin shot him to prominence in the movie scene.

He also appears in Awon Aladun De, a popular Africa Magic TV show.
