Celebrities are popular for their role in the entertainment industry, such as acting, singing or dancing. Meanwhile, some of these entertainers have professional certificates that many Nigerians would envy.

Kate Henshaw – Medical Microbiology

Kate Henshaw also known as Kate Henshaw-Nuttall was born July 19, 1971, in Cross River State. She is the oldest of four children.

The Nigerian actress spent one year at the University of Calabar studying remedial studies and then majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science afterwards, LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) in Lagos. Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General hospital.

Dr Sid – Dentistry and Dental Surgery

Nigerian singer, Sidney Onoriode Esiri stage name Dr Sid was born may 1, 1980.

SID studied Dentistry and Dental Surgery at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. During his school years, his flair for entertainment was not hidden as he took part in school plays, dance competitions, and concerts winning numerous awards along the way.

Beautiful Nubia – Veterinary Medicine

Beautiful Nubia is the performing name for Segun Akinlolu, a Nigerian-born songwriter, music composer and band leader.

He was born on November 11, 1968.

He graduated from the University of Ibadan with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 1992 and worked as a veterinarian for about 8 years. 

Jemima Osunde – Physiotherapy

Jemima Osunde is a Nigerian actress, model, and presenter. She was born on April 30, 1996.

In 2019, Osunde graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in physiotherapy.

Kiki Omeli – Medicine and Surgery

Kiki Omeli is a Nigerian actress who was born on June 1.

She is a graduate of Medicine and Surgery.

In an interview narrating how she transformed from being a medical doctor to an actress, Omeli said; “Honestly, it wasn’t easy, particularly with my medical background; some filmmakers were reluctant to cast me for roles. Interestingly, God made all things beautiful in His own way. With prayers, hard work, dedication and perseverance, I have carved a place for myself in the motion pictures industry.”
