In 2015, Paystack was co-founded by Shola Akinlade and Ezra Olubi. The two entrepreneurs founded Paystack which becomes a popular Fintech company in Africa. This platform allows payments to be made online.

Shola Akinlade is a software engineer and a technology expert. He is popularly known for being the CEO of Paystack and was born in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Before he co-founded Paystack, he worked from November 2007 to April 2009 as a database manager for Heineken, a brewing company in Nigeria.

Shola Akinlade later co-founded Klein Devort, a software development company with Mayowa Okegbenla.

According to Shola Akinlade, he claimed to have always had trouble with making online payments and transactions. The problem spurred him to develop Paystack which serves as a platform for online payment through debit and credit cards.

Ezra Olubi, the co-founder of Paystack was born in Ibadan city in Oyo State, Nigeria. He is an entrepreneur and an IT expert whose brilliance was noticeable right from childhood.

His intelligence led him to win an award in computer programming when he was at the University.

Shola Akinlade does not disclose his age nor does he disclose his date of birth. However, Ezra Olubi was born on November 12, 1986. He will be 36 years old by November 12, 2022.

Paystack Founder’s Education

Shola Akinlade spent his early life in Lagos State, Nigeria where he obtained his SSCE certificate. He then enrolled in Babcock University of Nigeria and graduated with a degree in computer science in 2006.

Ezra Olubi has a similar educational background. After completing his secondary school education, he was admitted to Babcock University where he graduated in 2006 with a first degree in computer science.

The duo met at the university and worked together as coursemates. They later brought their ideas together and co-founded Paystack.

In 2020, a financial services company in America known as Stripe acquired Paystack for $200 million.
