10 more Bethel Baptist students released in Kaduna

Ten more students of Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state have been released by bandits.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, Rev. John Hayab.

According to Hayab, “Ten more students of Baptist High School were released this afternoon. We have 11 now with bandits.

“We are thanking all Nigerians for their prayers and support.

“We are trusting God that the rest will be released very soon. All have been reunited with their parents.”

NewsWireNGR recalls some days ago, Hayab had announced the release of a batch of 10 students.

In the announcement, Hayab said; “We are praying that the bandits will release 21 remaining students soon”.

With the new release of another 10 students, 11 students are expected to remain in the captivity of the bandits.

The bandits had on July 5, 2021, abducted 121 students after invading the school located just a few kilometres away from Kaduna metropolis.

Meanwhile, three suspected kidnappers of the students were nabbed by the police.

According to one of them, Abubakar, 27; “Twenty-five of us carried out the operation. We kidnapped 136 students and I got N100,000 share from the money.”
