Police Confirms The Abduction Of The Taraba State Deputy Governor’s Mother

Taraba state Police have confirmed the abduction of the aged mother of the Taraba state deputy governor, Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Manu by some unknown gunmen.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joseph kwaji, who confirmed the kidnap to our reporter via telephone, said the police operatives have begun an intensive investigation with a mission to apprehend the kidnappers.

“On Monday, February 8, at about 10:35pm, four unidentified gunmen invaded the house of Deputy Governor of Taraba state and abducted his mother for unknown destination,” he said.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Shaba Alkali was heading the ongoing operation launched by the state police command to rescue the deputy governor’s mother from captivity.

“The Commissioner of Police is presently in Mutum-Biyu, super heading the vibrant and robust rescue operation,” the PPRO said.

When asked on whether the kidnappers have so far demanded for ransom to let the mother of the deputy governor regained freedom, the PPRO said: “No, I don’t have any information as regards that”.
