The governorship and House of Assembly polls are as critical as the presidential and National Assembly elections held about two weeks back.

The governors and state lawmakers are closer to the grass roots, where the majority of the citizens are located, which makes it vital for voters to be to choose the right candidates for the position.

The governorship elections will be holding in 29 of the 36 states. The states where governorship elections will not hold are Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo and Osun states.

This is because initial results of the flawed elections of 2007 were overturned at different times. Only House of Assembly elections will hold in these states.
