Redeemers University Allegedly Suspends 22 Students For Not Attending Church Service

Reports says, Nigeria’s Prestigious Christian University, Redeemers College suspends 22 students today for missing church services and other related activities.

A student who doesn’t want his name mentioned told NewsWireNGR said the suspension only applies to students said to have missed the services in campus.

She said, “The students have been asked to go and inform their parents of the suspension and a student said to be suffering from asthma attacks who was unavoidably absent for church was also affected”.

The anonymous student who pleaded not to be mentioned tells NewsWireNGR that the authorities of the school in its circular read a section of the School manual/handbook that says “Absence from corporate worship hours’ will attract a deduction of 10 points from the offenders total 100 points.”.. Which according to the source, when calculated by management/disciplinary committee led to the suspended students who have been found wanting of offences in the past, she noted.

Redeemers University management could not be reached for to confirm or deny the reports as alleged by the students but we shall follow the story and keep our readers updated.

Redeemers college of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, founded by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is one of Nigeria’s  expensive Colleges for the wealthy, with tuition fees as much as N400,000 per semester for a student.

Redeemer’s University, is a private university in Redemption City, Ogun State, Nigeria. Established in 2005, the university is owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

The university prides itself as an institution for discipline, NewsWireNGR recalls that last year, a drug test was conducted on 42 Redeemer University students leading to the expulsion of 28 students who tested positive.

  1. This is soo false, .. Please don’t rephrase the story to make it sound like you actually interviewed people.. First off, most of the students in question are 100level student and first time offenders, so when you say their points had sumed up to 100points that a bloody lie. Secondly Redeemers Uni is one of the cheapest Private Universities, the almost 400k that was mentioned was paid because my sister in law was a new student, subsequent school fees is a little above 200k.. Please get your facts right before you steer up trouble where there is none.
