Transparency International Ranks Nigeria 136th Most Corrupt Country In The World

Transparency International (TI), 2014 reports says Nigeria is the 136th most corrupt country in the world, and the 3rd most corrupt in West Africa.

The measurement is based on a scale of 0 to 100 with a 0 score perceived as “highly corrupt” and 100 score – “very clean”. Nigeria was ranked 136th with an index score of 27.

The Corruption Perceptions Index ranks countries and territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be.

A country or territory’s score indicates the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). A country or territory’s rank indicates its position relative to the other countries and territories in the index. This year’s index includes 175 countries and territories.

Denmark was ranked as the least corrupt country in the world, while Somalia and North Korea are ranked as the most corrupt nations in the world.

    I think it should go like this…Transparency International Ranks Nigeria 41st Most Corrupt Country In The World

    I’m no writer or English teacher, but, when I saw 136th, I was happy for a bit, a little misleading, the most currupt country in the world is Somalia and they are ranked 177 (…Ranks Somalia the number one most currupt country in the world).
