Catching Up With Chelsea Is Not Arsenal’s Priority For Now – Wenger

Chelsea seats comfortably at the summit of the English Premier League table and that’s the least of worries for Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman is of the opinion that his side have more biting problems at the moment than chasing Chelsea.

Arsenal lost 1-2 to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium in an EPL fixture on Sunday after managing a draw against Belgian side, Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions league in midweek

Arsenal are currently 12 points behind Chelsea on the premier league log but Arsene Wenger has told SkySports that his side has different worries at the moment:

“At the moment we have different worries than that. We just lost a game that we feel we shouldn’t have lost. We have to live in a realistic world, in football you have to win the games you can win and today was one. If you want to challenge for the Premier League, you have to be a bit more realistic than we were today.”

Arsenal initially took the lead against Swansea on Sunday but eventually lost the match and Wenger had something to say about that:

“We had the lead, it’s difficult to explain how we lost the lead because we were in control.

“You could see that they didn’t give up and I felt we lost some decisive challenges in the middle of the park in the last 20 minutes and we paid for that. That’s where we lost the battle.

“We were not in too much trouble and we had the best chances. It’s a place where it’s always tight, it was a very tactical game and I felt when we were 1-0 up we lacked some spark and killer instinct to win it. They didn’t give up and we couldn’t get the second goal.”
