Former Bayelsa Governor, Timipre Sylva’s Uncle Kidnapped At Gun Point

An uncle of former Bayelsa governor Timipre Sylva was kidnapped in the early hours of Monday by gunmen. Chief Benson Ayerite Adigio-Eseni, 86, was seized by the men armed with AK-47 rifles at his Okpoama residence in Brass LGA of Bayelsa state.

An aide  to Sylva tells TheCable the gunmen came in a speed boat around 1am shooting into the air before whisking the man away.

He said the kidnappers were yet to contact the family.

Bayelsa state is grappling with the menace of kidnapping. The ugly development is creating fear, tension and panic within the state.

No one is said to be spared as the President’s adopted father had also been kidnapped, Speaker of the state assemblies mother as well a commissioner.
