Pepe Reina is excited about the transfer stories linking him with Spanish giants, Barcelona. The goalkeeper is currently on loan at Napoli FC from Liverpool but Reds manager, Brendan Rodgers has stated that the chances of Reina returning to Anfield are slim.
We hear the President of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis will like to see Reina sign a permanent deal at the end of the season. What excites Reina more is the prospect of joining Barcelona which seems impossible however considering the recent transfer ban slammed on the Nou camp side.
Reina spoke about the possibility of returning to Barca, a side where he actually began his footballing career
“It pleases me that they’re speaking of me as a possible Barcelona goalkeeper, but now it’s difficult to speak about what will happen,” Reina told Onda Cero.
“I’m happy at Napoli. We’re facing the end of the season trying to reach second place, even if now it will be difficult. But we will not let up.
“Obviously, there’s also the final of the Coppa Italia, which we have so much desire to win.”
Napoli will face Fiorentina in the final of the Coppa Italia in May and is currently 3rd on the Serie A table.
