Ambassador Desmond Akawor has been appointed as a Federal Commissioner of the RMAFC

Ambassador Desmond Akawor has been appointed as a Federal Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC by President Bola Tinubu.

The appointment is pending confirmation by the Senate. This appointment comes after the passing of the previous RMAFC Federal Commissioner from Rivers, Asondu Temple.

Mr Akawor is a distinguished public servant who has served Nigeria in various capacities, including as Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Korea, Minister of State of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and Sole Administrator of the Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority.

The President has charged Mr Akawor to use his extensive experience to reform processes across all levels of government, ensuring the most efficient and productive use of allocations to the three tiers of government.
