‘I’m well and alive, not in a hurry’ — General Yakubu Gowon debunks death rumour

Former Nigeria’s head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, has debunked online reports that claimed he is dead.

There were media reports on Monday (not NewsWireNGR) that claimed the retired Nigerian army general is dead.

Debunking the reports in a statement made available to the media Adeyeye Ajayi, a personal aide to Gowon, the general said “I am still around and well. I am not in a hurry”.
