‘I will win in court’, Peter Obi says when asked if he will contest in 2027

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s judiciary while stating he will surely “win in court” against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Recall Obi earlier said he is challenging the process leading to the declaration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner of the election and not the declaration itself.

The former Anambra State governor had insisted that to be referred to as “His Excellency”, the process leading to the emergence of such a fellow has to be “excellent”.

In an interview on Channels TV programme on Thursday morning, Obi was asked by the TV host if he will contest again in 2027, in case he is unable to prove in court that he allegedly won the election.

The former Anambra governor replied, saying he would win in court as he trusts the judiciary.
