Biography

Faithia Williams Balogun is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer and director.

She was born on the 5th of February 1969 in Ikeja, Lagos state, Nigeria. Fathia is 54 years old as of 2023.

The veteran actress, an award-winning Yoruba movie star, is a native of Delta state.

Faithia is one of the most famous Yoruba Nollywood actresses at the moment

Education

Faithia had her elementary and secondary education at Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos, respectively.

She then headed to Kwara State Polytechnic for a diploma certificate before proceeding to Olabisi Onabanjo University to study Film making.

Career

Faithia started as a general receptionist at a Computer Company, Chips Bit & Bit, on Toyin Street, Ikeja, before she was approached by Alhaji Fatai Teniola, who introduced her to acting.

She was asked to stand in for an actress that was not on set, and she interpreted the role perfectly. Her first major role was in “Ta lo pa chief”. Her role in the project propelled her to stardom.

She won one of her major awards, the Africa Movie Academy Award for Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous, in 2008 

She won the Africa Movie Academy Award in 2014 after emerging as the year’s best actress.

In 2015, she was awarded the Best Indigenous Language award for her role film “Iya Alalake” at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Faithia Balogun has been featured in some movie projects like Farayola, Aje metta, Awawu, Teni Teka, Omo Ale, Agbelebu Mi, Basira Badia, Adakeja, Eku Eda, My Woman, Anikulapo amongst others

Marriage

Faithia was previously married to fellow actor Saheed Balogun. They both have two children together, a son and a daughter. Fathia also previously had a son from an earlier relationship.
