How to check your INEC voter’s card status

Every Nigerian of voting age, at least 18 years old, is mandated to possess a voter’s card to be able to vote during any election.

If you have registered and have yet to collect your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), it is easy to check the status online using the methods highlighted in this article.

What you would need to check your voter’s card status

There are two major ways to check your voter’s card status;

  1. Using your Voters Identification Number (VIN).
  2. Using your registration details.

To use your Voters Identification Number (VIN), to check your voter’s card status, you will need the following;

  • State of registration.
  • Local government of registration.
  • Last Name.
  • First Name.
  • Date of birth.

Using 1-Gov.ng

Via SMS

  • Text your State, Last Name, Voter Identification No (VIN) to 081-7164-6879 e.g Kogi, Solomon, 10877.
  • You should receive a response within 15 mins.

What If I Cannot Find My Temporary Voter’s Card?

Verify your name on the distribution list during the distribution of PVC or at your INEC LGA Office afterwards. If your name is on the register, you will be required to fill an attestation form to enable you collect your PVC.
