Lagos State Police Command on Friday said it rescued three teenagers from prostitution in the Itamaga area of Ikorodu.

The rescued teenagers, aged between 12 and 14, were rescued on Sunday, January 8 by the state operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) when a patrol team noticed the suspicious movements of the victims within the area.

The police in a statement disclosed the girls’ names are Saviour (14), Bright (13), and Deborah (12).

One of the teenagers told the police that they were fleeing the custody of their mistress who brought them from Akwa Ibom to Lagos under the guise of employment.

They added that their mistress locked them in a hotel and starved them for several days as a means to force them into accepting prostitution after arriving in Lagos.

RRS commander CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, has transferred the girls to the Lagos state gender Unit for further investigation adding that the victims’ families have also been contacted as directed by the Lagos State police commissioner CP Abiodun Alabi.
