Gunmen kill two policemen in an attack on a police patrol team in Kogi

Gunmen have killed two policemen in an attack on a police patrol team along Agbaja road in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

William Aya, Police Public Relations Officer in the State, in a statement says that the thugs came out from the bush to attack the team as they arrived for their routine patrol.

The attackers escaped before the reinforcement squad arrived, according to the statement, and the Command lost two of its troops during a gunfight with the criminals.

The state’s commissioner of Police, CP Akeem Yusuf, reportedly sent tactical operatives to the area to apprehend the thugs.
