Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper and businessman. Even though Afrobeat reigns supreme in West Africa’s music scene, the rapper has defied all expectations to become a significant entertainment attraction in the region.

3. Phyno – $10 Million

Nelson Azubuike, better known by his stage name Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He also raps in Pidgin English. In 2003, he began recording music. After establishing a large fan base in his home country, the artist rose to prominence in Europe in 2014.

Phyno is one of the few African rappers who regularly incorporates African dialects into his songs. For example, his most famous song, “Fada Fada with Olamide,” is entirely in Igbo.

2. Olamide – $11 Million

1. AKA – $12 Million

Kiernan Jarry Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, is a South African rapper. At the 7th annual Channel O Music Video Awards in 2011, his song “Victory Lap” catapulted him to fame, winning the Channel O’s Most Gifted Hip-Hop Video award.

He is well-known both within and outside of South Africa as a musician. His rhythmic rap technique has won him thousands of fans. AKA has won numerous musical awards, including “Best Male Artist of the Year,” among others.

He is Africa’s wealthiest rapper, with a net worth of $12 million.
