Profile: Meet Professor Abdullahi Musa, new VC of Kaduna State University

Professor Abdullahi Musa on Monday (November 14, 2022) assumed office as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Kaduna State University (KASU), for a single-term period of five years with effect.

Musa took over from Professor Abdullahi Ashafa, who occupied the position in an acting capacity since June 23, 2022.

Who is Professor Abdullahi Musa?

Until his appointment, Professor Abdullahi Musa was the librarian of the Kaduna State University.

He got his first degree in Library Science from Bayero University, Kano and a Master’s in Library Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he also headed the Department of Library and Information Science.

He holds a Ph.D. in Library Science from Emporia University, Kansas, United State of America, and a Master of Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano.

What is Professor Musa’s role at KASU?

The Chairman of the University Governing Council, Mr Hussain Dikko, said that Musa would be the Executive Head, Chief Academic Officer of the university and Chairman of the Senate, charged with the responsibility of achieving the mission and the vision of the university.
