Top Nigerian Pastors Who’ve Been Accused Of Adultery

By Balogun Kamilu Lekan

Nobody is immune to scandal, not even fiery pastors who speak in tongues. Many Nigerian pastors have been implicated in one or more scandals.

There are still pastors out there who are doing their jobs. Women have damaged the careers of most men, even pastors. It did not begin today and will not end today.

Over the years, some Nigerian pastors have been victims of s*x scandals.

Here is a list of some of them

1. Pastor Timothy Omotoso

Pastor Timothy Omotoso, senior pastor of Jesus Dominion International in Durban, South Africa, is accused of rape, sexual assault, people trafficking, and racketeering.

According to the 90-count accusation, the accused and two accomplices, Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho recruited young girls to his Durban church. He attempted to flee the country to Nigeria in order to avoid prosecution. While he was hiding in the airport restroom in South Africa, authorities found him and captured him.

2. Apostle Johnson Suleman

Apostle Suleman, the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, was accused of having an intimate relationship with a woman. Stephanie Otobo called out the pastor, alleging that he impregnated her and then dumped her. She claimed that they both spent time alone in a hotel, having intercourse, among other things.

Apostle Suleman has disputed the charges, calling them untrue. He claims he has never met the lady

3. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Reports appeared in 2014 that the founder of Believers Love World Ministry, Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita Oyakhilome, were divorcing. Anita was believed to have filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences bordering on alleged adultery and harsh behaviour.

According to a church elder, the pastor disputed the claims of infidelity and claimed his wife was being influenced by “evil friends” who were out to destroy their home.

4. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

In 2019, Busola Dakolo, the wife of famous singer Timi Dakolo, accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of raping her twice while she was only 16 years old.

Fatoyinbo denied it without providing any specifics, and the case is still pending in court.

5. Pastor Joshua Iginla

Joshua Iginla, a prominent Abuja-based pastor, acknowledged that he and his wife, Yemisi, had children out of wedlock.

Iginla, the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, told his audience during a Sunday service that he forgave his wife for bringing an illegitimate child into their family, but she refused to forgive him when he had his child with another woman.
