Ifeanyi: Peter Obi pens emotional message to Davido, Chioma over son’s demise

Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) has consoled Musician Davido and his fiancee over the death of their three years old son, Ifeanyi.

Peter Obi in a press statement posted on his official Twitter page, said; “I send my sincere condolences to Davido and Chioma, over the death of their son Ifeanyi. I cannot begin to imagine the pains they are going through at the moment. May God grant them healing, strength and comfort in this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

NewsWireNGR earlier reported that Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at his residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

In a bid to revive him, the three-year-old victim, after being pulled out of the swimming pool, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, where he was confirmed dead by one of the doctors on duty.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command disclosed eight members of Davido’s domestic staff have been picked up for questioning.

The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin said; “Domestic staff at Davido’a home have been taken to the station to give their own account of what happened. I wouldn’t call that arrest yet.

“If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if anyone of them is found culpable, the person will now be placed under arrest”.

The boy died three days after marking his 3rd birthday.

The couple were said to have traveled for a family gathering in Ibadan on Monday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders.
