Cynthia Morgan’s (aka Madrina) real name is Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morga. She is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actor.

She was born on September 23, 1991. Cynthia Morgan is 31 years old as of 2022.

Madrina is known for her unique vocal delivery that mixes pop, hip-hop, rap, and dancehall.

She was once regarded as the queen of Nigeria’s reggae dancehall.

Cynthia started music relatively young as a singer in the church but rose to prominence in 2009 when she got featured on Jhybo’s hit track Ejo Le Fe Ro. She followed it with her single ‘Dutty Stepping.’

She was a signee of Jeff before she was introduced to Joy Tongo, who later became her manager.

Later, she was in contact with Jude Okoye – P-Square’s brother, who signed her into his label, Northside Record label.

Under his management, Cynthia recorded remarkable success with several hit tracks. These include Don’t Break My Heart, Lead Me On, I’m Taken, German Juice, Come and Do, Simati Niya, Baby Mama, Olowo, In Love, Billion Dollar Woman,  and Hustle.

In 2015, Cynthia collaborated with Burna Boy to release a single, Acting Bad.

Cynthia featured in AY’s comedy Nollywood movie, A Trip to Jamaica, in 2016 comedy Nollywood film. She starred alongside Ayo Makum, Funke Akindele, Olamide, Patoranking, and Dan Davies.

Controversy

In 2020, Cynthia Morgan accused her former manager, Jude Okoye, of her career misfortune.

Cynthia revealed in an interview that she fell out with her former label head, Jude Okoye. She also alleged that Okoye took over her Instagram and VEVO accounts and stopped her from using the stage name Cynthia Morgan.

“I went through a lot as Cynthia Morgan that a lot of people didn’t know about,” she told Upfront With Sandra.

Furthermore, she also alleged that Jude Okoye didn’t promote her but was only shooting videos. She said that Okoye claims she owes him the money spent on shooting the music videos.
