Ahmed Musa is a professional footballer who currently plays for Sivasspor Kulübü in Turkey and is a member of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

He was born on October 14th 1992, in Jos, Plateau State. Ahmed Musa is 30 years old (2022).

Musa is a prominent member of the super eagle whose influence has taken the team far in international competitions.

He is the first Nigerian player to score more than a goal in a world cup match with his braces against Argentina and Iceland in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA world cup, respectively.

Ahmed attended Saint Peace primary school for his elementary education before heading to Ihya’ul Islamic secondary school for his secondary education. After his secondary education, Musa joined GBS Football Academy, where he started his football career.

Club Career

Ahmed started his football career with GBS Football in Jos before joining JUTH FC in the Nigerian National League on loan in 2008.

In 2009, he sealed a loan deal with Kano Pillars. He recorded massive success with the club, scoring the most goals (18) in a single NPFL season.

International clubs started showing interest in signing Musa before he eventually signed for Dutch league club VVV-Venlo on a permanent deal from Kano Pillars. He recorded eight goals in 37 games for his new club.

He moved to the Russian side, CSKA Moscow, where he bagged 42 goals in 125 appearances and also won the Russian premier league on three occasions, the Russian Cup and Russian super cup, before signing a £16.6 million record deal with Premier League side, Leicester.

Musa’s spell at Leicester was a disaster as he couldn’t live up to the club’s expectations.

He was degraded to the club’s U-23 team before he was loaned back to CSKA Moscow. 

In 2017, he sighed up for Saudi Arabia Based Club, Al-Nassr, where he won the Saudi Premier League and Saudi Super Cup.

After his sojourn in Saudi Arabia, he returned to his boyhood club, Kano Pillars, in 2020.

Musa later joined Fatih Karagumruk, a Turkish club, before terminating his contract in 2022.

Later, in August 2022, he reached a two-year contract deal with Sivasspor Kulübü, another Turkish Super Lig club.

International career

Ahmed Musa made his debut with the Super Eagles in 2010 at an Afcon qualification match against Madagascar when he was just 17 years and ten months. 

He was also a member of the Under-20 side that won the African Youth Championship in 2011

Ahmed Musa was pivotal to the Nigerian team that won the AFCON title in 2013.

He was also a prominent national team member at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup. 

Musa was included in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations team by head coach Gernot Rohr and was part of the 2021 edition of the tournament. 

Musa has 16 goals with the Super Eagles in 107 caps.

Musa was previously married to Jamila Musa before they parted ways with a divorce in 2017. They had two kids together:

While playing for Leicester City FC, Musa reportedly earns a weekly salary of $43,000 and $3 million per annum.
