The All Progressives Congress governorship primaries held on Thursday deepened the crises in the party’s state chapters as some factions held parallel congresses while others boycotted the polls entirely.

2. ‘Evil comes in many colours’: Valentine Ozigbo says as he withdraws from PDP Senatorial primary [NewsWireNGR]

Valentine Ozgbo, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra has withdrawn his interest to contest the Anambra South Senatorial primary.

Ozigbo in a press statement on Thursday said; “I refuse to dignify the rot of the process by participating in Anambra South Senatorial Primary. Evil comes in many colours. In PDP Anambra, its primary colour is Chris Uba. The secondary colours are in the National Working Committee of the Party that enabled him and his cohorts. Read more.

3. Ohanaeze Ndigbo blames Governor Soludo for killings in Anambra state [NewsWireNGR]

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has blamed Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the recent surge of killings in the State.

Ohanaeze alleged Soludo is not defending the oath of office he took as the Chief Security Officer to protect the lives and properties of citizens in Anambra State. Read more.

4. In one-sided primary,  Sanwo-Olu wins APC governorship ticket [NewsWireNGR]

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has won the All Progressives Congress governorship ticket to run in the 2023 election.

Former Commissioner of Energy, Mr Wale Oluwo and former Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Energy, Mr Mustapha Olorunfemi – were not cleared for the primary.

Sanwo-Olu scored 1170 votes though he was unopposed as the two other candidates who bought forms were not cleared by the party to participate in the primary election. Read more.

5. 2023: Zulum rejects VP offers, says prefers reelection as Borno governor [NewsWireNGR]

Governor Babagana  Zulum of Borno has disclosed that some associates of key presidential aspirants of All Progressives Congress (APC) have offered him the Vice President slot but would prefer being reelected as Governor of Borno state.

Zulum made this known on Thursday while addressing delegates at the state governorship primaries where he emerged unopposed as APC governorship candidate for 2023.

The governor, however, said he preferred to remain governor of Borno to focus on his programmes for the state than go for the position of vice president. Read more.
