2. Timetable: INEC talks tough as 18 parties fail to conduct primaries [Punch Newspaper]
The Independent National Electoral Commission has vowed not to extend the June 3, 2022 deadline for primaries even as The PUNCH observed on Monday that none of the 18 political parties had conducted their presidential primaries three weeks to the deadline.
A document obtained from INEC on Monday showed that the Accord Party scheduled its primaries for June 2 while the Action Alliance fixed its own for June 3. Read more.
3. Adeboye postpones Sokoto crusade after Muslims killed a Christian student [NewsWireNGR]
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has postponed the Light Up Sokoto Crusade scheduled to hold physically in the North-West state from May 16 to 17, 2022.
The 80-year-old cleric made the announcement on Monday in a social media post.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), on Monday, announced the resumption of the Abuja-Kaduna train services on May 23, 2022
NewsWireNGR recalls that, terrorists had bombed Kaduna-Abuja train, killing eight passengers and abducting several others on the 28 of March 2022, forcing the railway corporation to halt operations along the route.

Former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, the Police Service Commission said on Monday.
Magu was later suspended along with several others for allegedly mismanaging funds of the commission, an allegation he repeatedly denied. He was probed for over three months by a judicial panel of inquiry led by a former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami. Read more.
