Streaming service Amazon Prime Video acquires Nigerian produced film ‘Foreigner’s God’

The upcoming Nigerian fantasy film produced Ifan Ifeanyi Michael and directed by Toka McBaroro has been acquired by Amazon prime video, joining the ranks of already present Nigerian films on their list of acquisitions.

The movie is set in a colonial Nigeria. It depicts the story of an English documentary photographer in search of a story, that falls in love with an accused witch who lives under inhumane conditions.

the cast for the period piece features veterans like Pete Edochie, Sam Dede, Onyeka Onwenu, and Eucharia Anunobi.

It also has fresh faces like Bam Bam from BBNnaija, Toni Tones, Toyin Abraham, and Ini-Idima Okojie among others.

The film’s synopsis reads “At the peak of the colonial era Nigeria, English documentary photographer Pepper Claude, following a tale of the supernatural, journeys into the heart of Igbo land in search of a story. All Goes well until his bodyguard mysteriously disappears and h falls in love with one of the culprits- Anya, an accused witch living under subhuman in a witches’ camp in the heart of the jungle.”
