My publishing deal with SONY has ended — Shizzi

Nigerian music producer and songwriter Oluwaseyi Akerele, stage name ‘Shizzi’ has announced the end of his publishing deal with SONY music publishing.

He announced this via his verified Instagram account on Saturday. April 30, 2022. In his post, he reveals he is excited the deal has come to an end, and he thanked SONY for their integrity and his legal team for representing him over the years.

His post reads “I am extremely blessed and thankful that I’ve achieved my goal and I’m moving on to the next stage in my career. I’m happy to announce that my contract has officially ENDED!!! It’s been a long time coming. I’ve gone through a lot to get to this point.

“I want to thank Sony Music Publishing for its integrity throughout this process. I want to thank my team for representing me over the years in the best possible way through this whole journey. I couldn’t do this without my family, my wife! & I want to thank everyone else for their support and well wishes.

“Never stop believing in the true value of yourself & don’t ever let ANYONE take charge of your destiny, It’s God given and I’m just getting started”.
