Actors Guild of Nigeria reacts to Yul Edochie’s ‘polygamy saga’

The chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has subtly reacted to the “polygamy saga” which erupted after Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, posted the picture of his new son and second wife, Judy Austin, who is an actress.

May Yul-Edochie, the wife of the Nollywood actor, had commented “May God judge you both” on a post by her husband.

Rollas in his reaction subtly noted the saga while lamenting the death of two budding actors Chima Precious and Chinedu Bernard.

He wrote on his Instagram page; “Just about when I wanted to speak on my brother Yul Edochie and the polygamy saga I was informed of the death of these young and budding actors Chima Precious in Abuja and Chinedu Bernard in Enugu.

“My heart bleeds. Actors need a special day to call on God.

“I have therefore set up a three-man prayer committee to design a prayer link that members of our Guild would join from all the states.

“This committee headed by Apostle Eucharia Anunobi. Other myers are: Pascal Amanfo and Arinze Okonkwo”.

Earlier reacting to the development, Uche Edochie, brother to the Nollywood star, Yul Edochie said;

“His first wife May, a wonderful woman, and my sister in law did not go into a relationship with my brother agreeing to be part of a polygamous marriage.

“That’s the first problem. So I feel for May. It is not fair on her. My family is not in support. This is not what we do and we are trying our best to console May. What else can we do?” he wrote.

Uche also revealed that Yul was advised against taking a second wife, but his younger brother stuck to his guns because he felt “marrying a second woman is the best way to own up to his mistakes and make things right.”

Posting the picture of his nephew, he further wished the new couple the best of luck,

“This is Yul’s new baby with his new wife. Beautiful boy. Children are a gift from God. It is the circumstances of their birth that gets us all riled up about what’s right and wrong.

“I wish them all luck. Maybe Yul should become a Muslim and shut this circus down. It is said that life is what happens when we are making other plans,” he wrote.

Uche’s remarks come hours after his brother, Linc Edochie, stated that he was not present when Yul paid the bride price for a second wife.

Meanwhile, the actor had hailed himself in Pidgin, “Na man you be.”
