1. Plateau massacre: Bandits shot, beheaded victims in their homes —Survivors [Vanguard Newspaper]

Following the massacre of 78 persons in some Plateau communities on Sunday, the residents have fled the affected areas to homes of relations in safer communities in Garga area of Dengi, headquarters of Kanam Local Government Area.

Some survivors of the attack, which also led to the burning down of scores of houses, also said, yesterday, that their communities were attacked through the land donated for ranching in the areas.

2. PDP consensus suffers setback, zoning panel submits report [Punch Newspaper]

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirants are facing a tough battle in agreeing on a consensus arrangement among them, The PUNCH has learnt.

It was gathered on Tuesday that the consensus moves by some top presidential aspirants were heading for the rocks and that the party might have no option but to adopt either direct or indirect primaries for its May 29 shadow election.

3. Nigeria’s crude oil production decreased by 24,000bpd in March — OPEC [NewsWireNGR]

The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) says Nigeria’s crude oil production declined to an average of 1.354 million barrels per day in March 2022.

OPEC made this known in its Oil Market Report for April 2022 which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.

The report said the figure showed a decrease of 24,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.378mb/d produced averagely in the month of February 2022. Read more.

4. NFF President, Amaju Pinnick gets new FIFA appointment [NewsWireNGR]

President of the Nigeria Football Federation and member of the FIFA Council, Amaju Pinnick, has been appointed into a new role within the working group of the world football governing body.

The General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Véron Mosengo-Omba, confirmed Pinnick’s appointment in a letter dated 11 April, the NFF said.

According to the federation, Pinnick was informed that he had been nominated by CAF President, Dr Joseph Motsepe, to be part of the newly established Working Group on Normalisation Committees. Read more.

5. Federal Government has declared the following days as public holidays [NewsWireNGR]

The Federal Government has declared Friday and Monday as holidays in commemoration of Easter celebrations.

Easter is the holiday in which Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus following his crucifixion and death.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, announced the holiday on behalf of the federal government on Tuesday. Read more.

6. 2023: Osinbajo didn’t betray Tinubu, karma playing out — Primate Ayodele [NewsWireNGR]

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, didn’t betrayed his supposed ‘godfather’, Bola Tinubu, by declaring for 2023 presidency.

The cleric in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, said the All Progressives Congress national leader is only experiencing nemesis due to some of the things he did in the past. Read more.
