Kidnappers on Wednesday night invaded Bukpe community in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), abducting the traditional ruler of the community, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi in the process.

A sibling to the abducted traditional ruler, who is the Chief Imam of the Community’s Central Mosque, Malam Jibrin D. Gimba, confirmed the incident when he said the incident happened around 9:32 pm on Wednesday.

According to Gimba, the traditional ruler, was seating in front of his palace taking fresh air, when kidnappers stormed the place and whisked him away at gunpoint.

He said “I just walked into my house after his palace when he said he wanted to take some shower after which he will come out to rest in front of his palace to take some fresh air,” the brother said.

“Some few minutes later, I started hearing gunshots. I watched through my window and discovered that the kidnappers had whisked him away,” he said.

Gimba further stated that the abductors of the monarch has not made any contact with the family, as he confirmed the attack to be the third in the community.

At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh proved abortive, since she could not pick up calls placed across to her nor reply to the message sent to her.
